Kathy & Kent
Storybook wedding
Kathy and Kent waited over a year for their special day and it was truly the storybook wedding they envisioned. After their ceremony at the Pax Amicus Castle, complete with medieval trumpet fanfare, they arrived at Birchwood Manor later that afternoon to celebrate.
Cocktail hour was in the Greenery room with a fantastic view of the west Arbor gardens. Guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres, hot chafing dishes, cold salads, and piña coladas and Kahlua sombreros from the open bar.
Dinner was served in the West Lounge, beginning with a mesclun salad followed by raspberry sorbet intermezzo. Guests were offered a selection of entrées to choose from including herb encrusted prime ribs of beef, au jus, French breast of chicken with roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, onions in a champagne sauce, and grilled salmon with shallots and tarragon in a white wine cream sauce, all served with a mashed potato tower and zucchini ring with baby asparagus.
For dessert, Kathy and Kent chose a black and white wedding cake filled with chocolate fudge that was custom baked by Birchwood Manor’s bakery and served with vanilla ice cream in a tuile cup with chocolate ganache and a chocolate covered strawberry.
Kind words from Kathy & Kent (click for their full review on WeddingWire)
“Considerable time was spent searching for just the right venue. After reviewing about a half dozen places, we settled on The Birchwood Manor. We could not have possibly made a better choice of venue & our guests agreed as many of them expressed positive comments throughout the evening. There was absolutely nothing lacking where quality & class are concerned. The family-run facility was prepared to handle everything. All in all, it was a lovely event & by all accounts, everyone had a good time. Pleasant memories were created that will last a lifetime & should we ever again find ourselves in need of a banquet facility in this area, Birchwood Manor gets the job! It is truly a North Jersey treasure.”
Congratulations and best wishes to Kathy & Kent!
